Hello to all of you devoted to protecting childhood play! I'm back from my winter hibernation and have some great resources for you. Today, take a minute to read this article posted in the Wall Street Journal online today. It is a sobering report, but is also a positive piece because the word is finally getting out. The article also links to the Alliance for Childhood and the American Pediatric Association. Both sites have excellent research supporting more play as well as more appropriate assessment in place of anxiety provoking standardized tests. Let your voice be heard and place a comment following the article. Remember, parents have the power to change the system. We vote for our leadership! Let your representatives know you value play based learning!
